We don’t have the option to start take-away or delivery, but this doesn’t mean we can’t stay productive. We, as Amsterdam Boats, do everything we can to stay in touch with you, our guests, and to prepare for what we always do: deliver the perfect customized cruise so that you can enjoy the event without any worries. Due to the circumstances we have sailed to a lesser extent in the past year, but we are happy that several cruises have already been booked for next year!

Following the press conference last Tuesday, there are some possibilities again. The extra measures have beeb dropped and the city of Amsterdam lifted the boating ban. We have been still long enough, we can welcome you again on our beautiful boats!

There are several measures that we need to take into account, but we are pleased with the possibilities. The cruises that we are allowed to provide are currently without catering, but you and your group are on a beautiful heated, private, boat on the Amsterdam canals. Of course the boats will be decorated in the Christmas spirit.

The museums, theaters, cinemas and zoos are also open again. How great would it be to combine this and sail to 1 of these locations in style? We can pick you up at a place of your choice in Amsterdam and drop you off at the desired theater, museum or Artis. The other way around is of course also possible 😉

Although we are not yet allowed to organize dinners or a cozy Christmas drink with friends, sailing through Amsterdam remains one of the best things to do in our capital. Sailing on the beautiful Amsterdam canals with good company is an experience for everyone to never forget.

We are proud to introduce you to our classic fleet, consisting of 5 boats.

Our beautiful classic canal barge Bota Fogo from 1890. The boat has a wooden saloon, a retractable roof and a large afterdeck. Nowadays equipped with all comfort and luxury facilities you may expect on a modern-day boat.

Authentic Amsterdam Canal boat Ondine is incredibly beautiful and very luxurious from1909. Equipped with all modern day facilities the Lady Ondine is the perfect location for a variety of occasions.

The canal barge Anna Maria is an amazing ship from Friesland dating from 1910. Due to the specific and unique hull of the boat it makes its way elegantly through the canals. The boat has been remodeled and is now a very luxurious and comfortable ship.

The canal boat Marie Zurlohe, among close friends also called ‘Marietje’, is a jewel of a boat from the year 1912. The ship belongs to one of the loveliest (smaller) canalboats in its class in the country. This boat is also equipped with all luxury conveniences.

Luxurious canal yacht, HRH (Her Royal Highness) from 1913, was renovated in 2010 into a luxurious sailing trendy bar / restaurant. The ship is equipped with a number of characteristic elements, and equipped with all luxurious comforts.

Amsterdam Boats has been renting out luxury (saloon) boats in Amsterdam to groups since 2009. With passion for classic boats, friendly service and good food and drinks, we have been ensuring that our guests leave with a smile for more than ten years.

With the corona crisis, it soon became clear that we had to adapt to new circumstances. Before the crisis started, we increasingly received the question whether people could use our services without hiring an entire boat. The past 2 months have been hard work and June the 2^nd at 13:00 we launched a unique ticket platform for luxury experiences on the Amsterdam canals. Take a quick look at:

Amsterdam has a few boat rental companies where you can rent a small boat to drive yourself. A nice and affordable way to explore the canals with your family or some friends!   
For that kind of boat tours Rent A Boat Amsterdam recommends Boaty Boat Rental and Boats4rent Boat Hire. They have decent boats and provide friendly service at the best rates in town.

How does it work? It’s recommended to book your boat in advance, in particular for weekends and holidays. You will receive a confirmation via e-mail and the boat rental staff will await you at the time of your booking.

You don’t need any license to drive a small rental boat on the Amsterdam canals. The staff will give you a proper briefing about the handling of the boat and the basic rules on the canals.  Your rental also includes a map of the canals (with suggested routes on it), foam seats to sit on and life vests for the kids and others on board that cannot swim.

Your canal tour with a self-drive boat always starts at the dock of the boat hire. Boaty’s dock is located in ‘De Pijp’, a popular and lively neighbourhood in the southern city center. It’s only a few minutes walking from metro station ‘De Pijp’.  If you prefer to start and end your rental in the western city center, you’d better go for Boats4rent. That has a dock at the cultural hotspot Westerpark, close to the northern Jordaan neighbourhood.

All rental boats are electric. They are zero emission, silent and easy to drive. Full batteries are included in the rental price.  Catering is not included in this kind of boat rental. So it’s recommended to bring your own food and drinks.

The maximum number of people per boat is limited to six, due to the license and insurance. Rates start at € 79,- per boat for a three hour rental.
